Cysling tourism is getting more and more popular in Croatia, this is evident in the new modern websites build by the local tourist offices and the increase in well marked cycling trails, accomodations for cyclists, GPS maps, bike-for-rent bike service points and much more.

The region Medjimurje
Located in the most northern tip of Croatia on the border with Slovenia to the north and Hungary to the east. Medjimurje is easy to reach by car via highway A5 in Slovenia (Maribor – Lendava, exit Lendava, Čakovec), or the Croatian highway A4 from Zagreb – Goričan – Budapest (exit Čakovec). A very friendly landscape with green hills covered with vineyard and rural scenery. The region is surrounded by two rivers, the Mura and Drava. Several well post-signed cycling trails in medjimurje are available for cycling trips.
There is also the opportunity to make longer multiple-day cycling trips on trails along the rivers Mura and Drava, they start in Bad Radkersburg (Austria) or Maribor (Slovenia).

The region Krapina – Zagorje
This area is located north-east from the capital Zagreb and offers a green hillside landscape with lots of authentic villages and nature. Zagreb and surroundings
Several well marked and mapped cycling trails are to be experienced in and around the Croatian capital Zagreb. Zagreb is located in the centre of Croatia with lots of green surroundings. more information

Central Croatia
Bicycle trails the area of Sisačko-Moslavačka in the east of Croatia with green hillsides and rural fields more information. The website itself is only in Croatian, but the first 8 cycling routes are also in English and each route has a descriptive map attached.

The region Lika – Karlovac: located in the north-west of Croatia, between the capital Zagreb and the coast at the height of Rijeka. A beautiful natural environment with hills, mountains, forests and nice scenery, the region is also very suited for walking and hiking. There is ample choice for a suitable cycling trails in the Karlovac region.

The region Gorski Kotar and NP Risnjak: The beautiful nature park Risnjak and the equally spledid green mountaineous surrounding region is an excellent place for an active holiday, for more information about cycling routes in this area click here.
