The technical museum was founded in 1954 and it holds more than 6.000 items from Croatia and abroad. The permanent exhibition is structured in a way to show the development and application of technical advances. There are several different sections in the museum:

• Astronauts and Planetarium
• Fire fighting
• Mining, geology and petroleum
• Surveying and land register
• Transformation of Energy
• The study of Nikola Tesla
• Transport
• Basic agriculture and bee keeping (apiary)
• Major Croatian Scientists and Technicians
• Information Centre for Renewable Resources and Energy Efficiency
