Croatia is gaining popularity as a bird watching destination in Europe and in recent and coming years more facilities will be build with the specific purpose to accommodate bird watchers. Due to the large diversity in habitats, many different bird species breed, spend the winter and reside in Croatia. The habitats can be divided into regions: mountains, islands, lakes/river/marshland and fields. Each habitat home to it’s own kind of bird species.
