The permanent collection, opened in 1997, is housed on the first floor, in the hall and in seven rooms and it shows items that span across from the oldest geological periods to today. Each room houses a specific chronological-thematic collection as well as an introduction to exhibits to be seen in the following room.
Karlovac is located at the crossroads of the Pannonian and Dinaric regions between the land and the sea and therefore it has varied geological manifestations and a rich cultural history due to many influences during its history.
