The Museum for Art and Craft was founded in 1880 with as aim the protection of works of art and craft against the increase of industrially produced products!
It has many exhibited items and is a National centre for the documentation – it has a library with more than 50.000 titles – and presentations of artistic production and the history of material culture in Croatia. The Museum is divided into 19 collections, which comprise of metal, painting, furnishing, sculpture, photography and photographic equipment, ceramic, musical instruments, graphic design, ivory, printing and bookbinding, printed and painted leather, smoking accessories, toys and devotional items.
You travel through all different style periods of the last centuries, like Gothic, Renaissance, Baroque, Rococo, Classic, Empire, Biedermeier, Art Deco.
