The museum is housed in the Old Town Castle and it’s permanent display was opened in 1955. The Museum shows items about the history of Medjimurje, and these are organized in different departments:

• Ethnographic
• Art Gallery with Ladislav Kralj (King) of Medjimurje Memorial Collection
• Exhibition Hall
• Museum Library

The museum has a souvenir shop with local products from Medjimurje and some memorabilia from museum pieces, and in the courtyard of the Old Castle is a restaurant.
