The Music Biennale Zagreb is an international festival of contemporary music and was founded in 1961 (last edition was 2015, next 2017).

During this music festival, in April every other year, Zagreb is transformed into a cultural centre. A magnet for composers, music critics, the best musicians, and contemporary music and arts lovers from the region and the whole of Europe.

The Festival is dedicated to new music – including the “living Classics” of contemporary music and new generations of composers from all over the world. The Music Biennale program include projects from contemporary dance, jazz, electronics, symphony orchestras and chamber ensembles, experimental musical theater, all the way to the alternative music scene.
