Exhibition of the Water World

Nautilus

The collection of water world is of great value, unique in many things for it is located in Osijek, a continental part of Croatia, presenting the largest exhibition of that kind not only in Croatia but in this part of Europe. The rarity of its exhibits is the envy of many world famous museums consisting of bivalvia, snail shells, Chephalopoda, Scapophoda, chitons, corals, sea urchins, starfish, crabs, fish and a large marine turtle. All seas of the world are represented, and the Adriatic Sea exhibits is very special. Besides the sea exhibits, there are freshwater and inland Mollusca from Slavonia, as well as invertebrate fossils.

The exhibitions offers additional programs such as getting information, education, educational youth programs, lectures:

  • Basic division of Mollusca
  • Protected species
  • How are pearls created
  • How is shell noise created
  • A story of cephalopod – Nautilus pompilius
  • How are echinoderms fed

Thanks to this exhibition children will have an opportunity to learn in a simple and interesting way about the previously mentioned topics and enter the world of breathtaking colors and forms.
