Visit this world renowned and most visited National park of Croatia, and walk on the well maintained wooden walkways alongside the photogenic emerald green lakes and waterfalls. Due to is unique geological features of the water retaining dolomites and porous limestone in the karst the unique area of Plitvice lakes was shaped by natural, geological characteristics.
What are local specialities?
Traditional specialities from the Lika region around the lakes of Plitvice include grilled lamb and grilled trout with baked potatoes, and as desert strudels filled with apple, prunes or young cheese.
Where to sleep?
There are several campsites in the area, it is forbidden to camp in the park itself. In addition, there are apartments, guest houses, holiday homes and a few hotels and in the vicinity of the park where you can book an overnight stay. - Try to schedule a visit, if possible, outside the months of July and August – it is very busy and the entrance fees are much higher
- Parking is free at the Rastovača parking lot, please note that there are no clearly marked parking spaces
