A bit of a ‘forgotten’ city by tourists due to it’s remote inland position. But that doesn’t mean Osijek is not worth to visit! The town itself is located along the river Drava and is a lively university town and the central town of the region Slavonia. There are several historic buildings to see like the fortress, a museum and several churches. The streets are broad and wide with nice shops and local products.

The surroundings of Osijek are worth visiting too, the river delta area formed by the rivers Drava and Danube give rise to a wonderful marshland national park ‘Kopacki rit’ great for boat and canoe rides and bird watching. Enjoy the local speciality dishes and wines, make this a holiday with plenty of discover of an area in Croatia not trampled by tourists.
