Croatia is an ideal country for camping. There is a perfect camping spot for every type of camper or to find. Along the beautiful coastline with its many islands and beaches most of the camp-grounds can be found, they come in all shapes and sizes. from large luxury campsites with multiple pools, beaches, restaurants, rental of tents, caravans and cottages to very small campsites located in idyllic nature locations.
The climate in Croatia is perfect for camping. In the springtime it is already warm and sunny, especially along the coast, and there is plenty to do and see. There are many opportunities for water sports, but especially hiking and cycling are becoming increasingly popular and there are more and more well-signposted cycle routes in Croatia. The country has many beautiful nature parks where there is always an information desk with all sorts of information about walking and cycling routes, the unique flora and fauna and other interesting sites to visit in the area. Croatia has many old churches with frescoes, UNESCO-protected city sights, such as the coastal towns of Dubrovnik, Split and Trogir. There are many small villages with restaurants where you can order traditional dishes with a delicious local wine. Especially in the northern peninsula of Istria all is very well organized, there are many campsites, there is good signage and there is plenty to see and there is a lot in terms of organized sports activities. On the internet there are several websites with information about the campsites in Croatia, you can often book a camping site in advance, which is recommended for the summer months of July and August for camp sites in the coastal region.
