The best Christmas Fair destination in Europe for 2016, and with a reason! The city of Zagreb has planned a very festive, magical, Christmas winter wonderland for everybody!
Ice skate park – Ledeni Park
At the King Tomislav Square you can enjoy a real treat – a magical ice skate park. In the background music is playing while you actively participate in the ice skating or just enjoy watching and treat yourself with international culinary delights, like Italian pannetone, French champagne, American hotdogs,Mediterranean falafels, and Croatian cakes, cheese and prosciutto, and more. You still have to learn ice-skating? – no problem – experienced ice skating instructors will help you to get skating on the ice. Additional musical entertainment starts everyday at 19.00 and at Saturdays at 11.00 and 19.00.

Advent on Zrinjevac
The beautiful Zrinjevac park is décor to magical Christmas feelings, with Christmas lighting, an old music pavilion with classical music and waltzes, Christmas ornaments, you can try the traditional dish from Zagreb – cabbage with pasta (krpice sa zeljem), sauerkraut rolls, strudels and much more. Listen to Christmas songs under the large trees, enjoy delicious winter comfort food en stroll around the Christmas stalls that sell Croatian souvenirs and Christmas ornaments – buy something nice to put under the Christmas tree for your family and friends!

Advent on European Square
If you are looking more for modern fun and a good time out with your friends? Then go to the heart of the city where at the European square, which is a pedestrian zone, this is the meeting place for young people. The Christmas Fair
This is the place you must visit! A real nice Christmas fair with wooden houses, handmade souvenirs, Christmas gifts and ornaments, at night the Christmas lights bring a special warm feeling to the fair. To keep you warm there is plenty of choice for warm drinks and delicious food, like gluhwein, sausages, roasted chestnuts and sweet cookies.

Advent on the Ban Jelačić Square
All day long you will find something happening at the main square in Zagreb the ban Jelačić Square. Watch the lighting of the candles at the Advent wreath around the Manduševac Fountain. The Christmas spirit will follow you around during the music performances, while smelling and tasting delicious food and gluhwein.

Strolling around – Fuliranje
For a delightful Christmas walk through town, you can take a stroll to Tomićeva and Kurelčeva Streets during the Advent season. By the Funicular, the small tram that brings you to the upper city, you are treated with culture and entertainment. There are shops with products from around the world complimented with a wide choice of food and drink for a great time out in the town.
This year a new concept has been launched, after the successful past five years that the Christmas event has been organized. The strolling around – or fuliranje- is held in two different streets with each their own concept. The Tomićeva street is now the Chef street – where you can enjoy great food and drinks and the Kurelčeva street is the disco street with a great music program. Go and see and hear for yourself!

Live Nativity Scene
No Christmas fair without a live nativity scene! The display is staged on Kaptol with the tolling of the church bells in the background. Performed by the young people of the Cenacolo Community, these youngsters were once trapped in a world of drugs and alcohol. Now they are performing for all onlookers the events that took place at the eve of the birth of Jesus accompanied by farm animals, shepherds and the three wise men from the East

Concerts from Zagreb Christmas balconies
From the most beautiful balconies in Zagreb the brass ensemble ‘Ad Gloriam Brass’ give their performances of Bach, Händel, traditional Christmas songs and much more. With their music they bring Christmas joy to your ears. In this way the ensemble bring your attention to the beautiful architecture of several buildings in Zagreb.
Four concerts are to take place on Sunday evenings starting at 19.00.
The ‘Add Gloriam Brass’ ensemble, active since 1993, consists of six musicians of the Opera Orchestra of the Croatian National Theatre in Zagreb and the Zagreb Philharmonic Orchestra.

Courtyards of Zagreb – In Advent stijl
In the old upper town of Zagreb you can enjoy a cheerful holiday atmosphere in the beautiful old courtyards. Over a period of three weeks – from Saturday, December 3rd – Friday, December 23rd, you can enjoy this Advent attraction in the quiet streets of the old Upper Town. This Christmas holiday you can enjoy the smell of cinnamon, a warm drink of gluhwein while listening to Christmas music and feasting your eyes at festive Christmas decorations and lights with which the old courtyards are decorated.
During Advent, the Courtyards are open from 17:00 until midnight on weekdays, and from 10:00 until midnight on Saturdays.

Advent in the tunnel
A modern multimedia spectacle representing a Christmas Carol located in a tunnel with music, lights and video projections create an extraordinary magical and festive Christmas atmosphere. Besides the multimedia projections there are live musical performances. White snow, ice blocks, silvery fir trees all projected in the tunnel to create a winter wonderland.

16 – 24 December from 15.00 – 21.00 with three to four live musical performances per day.
