Dubrovnik in spring

Along the beautiful blue Adriatic sea you find the historic town Dubrovnik. Visit Dubrovnik in spring for a mild warm climate, lot of sunshine and plenty of spots to visit. This UNESCO town is a perfect holiday destination, the old town centre is traffic-free, making it a lovely town to stroll through, visit the churches and museums and of course take a walk on the beautiful old city wall with plenty of photo-opportunities. Try the delicious local Mediterranean food, walk through the narrow streets and look for souvenirs in the small shops, walk along the main street ‘Stradun’ and enjoy an ice cream.
The Stradun is a 300 m long street which connects the western city gate the “Pile Gate” (Vrata od Pila) to the eastern city gate, the “Ploče Gate” (Vrata od Ploča). Near these old city-gates you can also find 15th century fountains and two bell towers – the large Large Onofrio’s Fountain in the west and the small Onofrio’s Fountain in the east of the street.

Game of Thrones filming locations
At various locations in and around Dubrovnik recordings were made for the popular television series ‘Game of Thrones’. There are organized walks along and through these locations, but you can also search for them yourself. Some of these places are St. Dominic Street, Fort Lovrijenac, Fort Bokar, Knežev castle, Sponza Palace, and Minčeta tower. Just outside Dubrovnik filming locations were the beautiful island of Lokrum, which you can reach in about 10 minutes by boat from the old harbour, and the peaceful green garden arboretum Trsteno on the coast just north of Dubrovnik.
