Visit the old palace of Diocletian, an UNESCO world heritage location, which is fully integrated with shops and houses and form a unique inner city. There are many historic buildings and churches, little shops and many bars and restaurants hidden in the small off-white coloured cobble-stone streets.

The town has many Hotels and resorts along the coast, the perfect destinations for a seas-side beach holiday with plenty to do in the evenings when the temperature gets more moderate. The most famous beach is ‘Bacvice’ beach, a shallow sand beach, the perfect family beach but with a lot of bars and social happenings to offer. Every year a contest of ‘picigin’ is held in the shallow water of Bacvice beach. Picigin is a local water sport where a small ball has to be prevented to touch the water, a lot of manoeuvring is involved and it’s is the most important happening for the inhabitants of Split!
