Last week I wrote a piece about Dubrovnik, a unique UNESCO town in southern Croatia. Now we go all the way to the north to Umag on the Istrian peninsula. Umag is a very popular tourist destination because Umag has everything to offer for a great holiday. A beautiful tens of kilometres long coastline with a well-kept promenade, ideal for walking or cycling, you can sunbathe there, swim, there are many hotels, resorts, sports facilities (great place for tennis and soccer), green parks shaded by pine trees and parks with accompanying squirrels as entertainment!

Tennis in Umag
The reason to write a piece about Umag this week is the start of the famous Croatian tennis tournament Croatia Open Umag – 15 to July 24, 2016! Croatia Open Umag is one of the oldest and most famous Croatian ATP (Association of Tennis Professionals) tournaments and has hosted several excellent tennis players since its beginning. Visitors can participate in diverse activities besides viewing the tennis tournament, such as the Istria Gourmet Festival, concerts and live performances.
