Roam through the small streets of the historic centre of Split or along the hip boulevard, the ‘Riva’ along the Dalmatian coast with its bars and restaurants it is the place to see and be seen! Visit the old palace of Diocletian, an UNESCO world heritage location, which is fully integrated with shops and houses and form a unique inner city. There are many historic buildings and churches, little shops and many bars and restaurants hidden in the small off-white coloured cobble-stone streets.
The town has many Hotels and resorts along the coast, the perfect destinations for a seas-side beach holiday with plenty to do in the evenings when the temperature gets more moderate. The most famous beach is ‘Bacvice’ beach, a shallow sand beach, the perfect family beach but with a lot of bars and social happenings to offer. Every year a contest of ‘picigin’ is held in the shallow water of Bacvice beach. Picigin is a local water sport where a small ball has to be prevented to touch the water, a lot of manoeuvring is involved and it’s is the most important happening for the inhabitants of Split!
